The Office des professions du Québec

The Office des professions du Québec is a government organization that ensures that the orders protect public users of professional services. Accordingly, the public is well protected by the competence and integrity of more than 340,000 professionals and the activities of 46 professional orders, which verify that their members have the required expertise and skills and maintain professional conduct.

The Office des professions ensures that the professions are practiced and developed by offering the public a guarantee of competence and integrity. For that purpose, the Office:

  • ensures that the orders have the appropriate resources for their mandate;
  • provides the government with advice that will allow the continuous improvement of the professional system;
  • ensures the adaptation of the legal framework of the professional system;
  • helps make existing procedures more effective within orders;
  • ensures that the public is informed and represented in the orders.
